Balance & Diplomacy with the Fiery Full Moon in Aries 2018

Welcome to my weekly moon musings. All you need to know right now about the current moon and major planetary aspects . .

Wondering what the full moon means for you? Simply put, it is the monthly opportunity to reconcile your thoughts and feelings. While the Sun is in Libra, our collective attention is on relationships, partnerships, politics, peace and diplomacy. However, the Moon culminating in the opposite sign of Aries brings some pressure to an otherwise beautiful and balanced time of year.

The Aries full Moon energy is BOLD, impatient and impulsive. Emotions may be temperamental, angry or irritable. Should any negative feelings come up, take a deep breath and consider another perspective. The polarity between Libra Sun and Aries Moon requires reconciling the wants of other people with our own needs and desires.

Realize any difficult emotions, then lean into your highest awareness to find new ways to create beautiful and harmonious solutions now.

This lunar phase comes with a positive boost from driving Mars in Aquarius. Radical, surprising and humanitarian actions are inspired and encouraged. Flashes of brilliant ideas and inventive initiatives are also possible now.

Be gentle with yourself and everyone you meet & Prepare for shocks and surprises.

A couple of complicating aspects to this Moon may also mix things up. First an irritating square to disciplinarian Saturn means we may have to be provoked before following through on our obligations. Then a challenging opposition to communicative Mercury signifies that impulsive moods might override our better thinking.

When raising or reacting to sensitive subjects, please pause and think twice before blurting out something you may not really mean during this volatile full moon.

The full Moon is exact on Monday, September 24 (at 7:52pm PT, 10:52pm ET). The energy has been building to coincide with the Equinox (Autumn Equinox in the Northern hemisphere and Spring Equinox in the the Southern hemisphere). The Equinox is the time of year when the amount of daylight is equal to the amount of evening darkness, further emphasizing the theme of balance in our lives.

This year the Aries full Moon falls on the first day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, a five day celebration of nature’s bounty and harvest. It is an excellent time to contemplate what have you been growing in your life. Ask yourself: What is ripe for harvesting? What am I celebrating? What do I want to keep? What is ready to be released?

It takes two weeks for the moon to grow from new to full, then another 14 days to decrease back to the next new moon. So, the lunar cycle is a perfect 28 days. This waxing and waning cycle affects all water, including tides, and emotions.

The highest intensity of the full moon energy lasts roughly three days before and after the exact date. The implications, however, go beyond that initial period. The greatest results tend to occur within the thirty (30) day period. Since there are generally only one new and one full moon in each sign per year, the effects can last up to six (6) months.
